Daewoo Group

After more than a decade since the collapse of Daewoo Group, once South Korea's No. 2 family-run conglomerate, an unexpected controversy has popped up as the group's founder, Kim Woo-choong, raised belated questions about the dismantlement of his group.
During a party held on Tuesday to celebrate the publication of a book discussing why Daewoo Group went belly up, the 78-year-old business tycoon said Daewoo Group's collapse was caused by bureaucrats and the situation should be rectified.
