An international exhibition on Vietnamese central and Central Highlands regions\' economy and investment will open in the coastal central Phu Yen province on Sept. 1-6, announced organizers on Monday. According to Le Van Truc, vice chairman of Phu Yen province people\'s committee which will sponsor the event, there will be at least 130 domestic companies nationwide and 22 foreign businesses from Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia to participate in the expo. Domestic and foreign business men will be provided opportunities to promote cooperation and investment in areas that the central and Central Highlands region has potentials for. Seminars will be held along with the display of products, including one on seafood processing - exporting and challenges, and another on the protection of the consumers. A business promotion conference will also be held with participation from foreign embassies, investors, associations and organizations in Vietnam. The expo is one among activities held throughout the Vietnam Tourism Year 2011 with focus on tourist promotion in the central coastal provinces.
