Ukraine will not place any restrictions on wheat exports in the near future as there is no grain deficit on the domestic market, an official from the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry said here Wednesday. \"Today we don\'t see any critical situation with food grains, and therefore the question of possible restrictions is not yet the subject to talk about,\" Ivan Bisyuk, the first deputy minister of Agriculture Policy told journalists during a briefing. Bisyuk noted that the issue of limiting wheat exports can be raised only \"in case of a critical shortage\". Since mid-October, rumors have been circulating that Ukraine, one of the top 10 global wheat-exporting countries, is to ban wheat exports from mid-November. Global prices of wheat has raced up sharply after a threat of a possible ban. Ukraine\'s wheat exports amounted to some 4 million tons since the beginning of the current marketing year in July 1.
