Number of unemployed increased by 214,000 in December 2012 and has reached 2,790,000 in Turkey. According to Turkey\'s Statistical Institute (TurkStat), unemployment rate in December was realized as 10.1 percent with 0.3 percentage point increase. Non-agricultural unemployment rate was realized as 12.4 percent with 0.4 percentage point increase and youth unemployment rate was realized as 19.8 percent with 1.7 percentage points increase. Number of employed persons increased by 1,088,000 persons in December 2012 compared to December 2011 and has reached 24,766,000 persons in the period of December 2012. Agricultural employment increased by 87,000 and non-agricultural employment increased by 1,001,000 persons in this period. Employment rate increased from 43.8 percent to 44.9 percent with 1.1 percentage points increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Labour force participation rate was realized as 50 percent with 1.5 percentage points increase compared to the same period of the previous year for Turkey in December 2012 period.
