Romania recorded the European Union\'s highest year-on-year growth in industrial production in June with an increase of 9.6 percent, according to the latest data published by the EU\'s statistics office Eurostat on Tuesday. Compared to May, industrial production output in the eastern European country rose 5.7 percent, the second-largest growth in the EU, being outrun only by Ireland (8.7 percent). The figures came after Romania, in May, had the second-steepest drop in the industrial production in the EU (minus 9.1 percent). The industrial production grew in June by 0.3 percent in the euro area and 0.4 percent in the EU year on year and by 0.7 percent in the euro area and 0.9 percent in the EU compared to May, according to Eurostat.
