The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has announced it has suspended Russia's accession process to the group, which promotes policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. The OECD, comprised of 34 of the world's most developed economies, said in a statement that it would strengthen its cooperation with Ukraine to help alleviate the problems the country is facing. Russia is being severely criticized by the west for its uncompromising policy towards Ukraine since the ousting of Ukraine's pro-Russian former president Yanukovych in February, particularly for its use of military force in its attempts to annex Crimea.
