Sunblest is celebrating the maiden voyage of the Lorry for Life, which, along with the help of some friends, has helped the bakery raise £20,000 for Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. With support from Todd Insurance Brokers, Jordan Plastics, Volvo, Printproject.co.uk, Sleaford Quality Foods, Firmus Energy, FTA, Frylite, Smarts, People Power, Alexander Boyd Displays, RLA and AB Mauri, the Sunblest Lorry for Life raised much-needed funds for the local charity, whilst offering brands a unique opportunity to support NICFC by submitting a donation in exchange for brand presence on one side of the 14 tonne lorry. Todd Insurance Brokers secured premium visibility on an entire panel of the lorry, winning a sealed bid against other brands. The money raised will help Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children offer practical, emotional and financial support to children, teenagers and young adults living with cancer, and their families. Elva O’Connor, Sunblest Brand Manager said: “We’re thrilled to have so much support for the Lorry for Life and are delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount for our charity partner NICFC. Thanks to help from our friends, we have been able to help this local charity continue to support young people affected by cancer. Now we’re looking forward to seeing the Lorry for Life on the road!” Gillian Creevy, Chief Executive of NICFC adds “Every week in Northern Ireland another three children, teenagers or young adults are diagnosed with cancer. For these young people and their families life will change dramatically. As a local children’s charity we receive less than 1% Government Funding and rely on the generosity of our friends. Every penny counts and we thank our friends for teaming up with us on this unique opportunity.”
