Budget deficit before aid rose to JD459.9 million by the end of May this year, compared to JD251.3 million during the same period of 2012, Jordan News Agency (Petra) quoted the Ministry of Finance as saying. The ministry said that the fiscal deficit stood at JD678.1 million, excluding the foreign grants, compared to JD273 million during the same period last year. The figures showed that domestic revenues and foreign aid during the first five months of this year rose by JD108 million or five percent, pegged at JD2.27 billion compared to JD2.164 billion during the same period last year. Foreign aid in the first five months of 2013 reached JD218 million compared to JD21.7 million during the same time span last year while domestic revenues stood at JD2.054 billion compared to JD2.143 billion during the same period of 2012.
