Corporate direct financing rises 19.1% in April in Seoul

Direct financing by South Korean companies expanded 19.1 percent in April from a month earlier as companies opted to secure money through bond sales, the financial watchdog said Sunday.
Local companies raised a combined 11.1 trillion won (US$10.9 billion) last month by selling stocks and bonds, compared with 9.34 trillion won a month earlier, according to the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS).
