The Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf accompanied with MP Hassan Bu Khamas, Roads Planning & Design Director Kadhim Abdul-Latif and a number of engineers from the Ministry, toured and inspected services and infrastructure needs in Juffair area.The Minister briefed MP Bu Khamas about current and future revamp projects in Juffair; reiterating the fact that similar meetings with MPs are essential to closely acknowledge citizens’ needs and find ways to ensure that such needs and requirements are properly met.Several projects implemented by the Ministry in Juffair were discussed during the visit, including the Al Fateh Highway revamp project, whose tender was awarded to a consultancy firm. Preliminary blueprints for revamping Al Fateh Highway and Bani Otbah Avenue have also been finalized, and technical drawings for the revamp of Sheikh Duaij Avenue and Al Fateh Highway have also been finalized.The Ministry plans expansion of Awal Avenue from 2 lanes to 3 lanes and also creation of an exit point to traffic coming from Avenue 3444 towards Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Causeway in order to alleviate traffic congestions at the present points of exit in Juffair.MP Bu Khamas presented several suggestions, including opening new roads and improving the road network in certain places in Juffair; aiming to ease traffic congestions. He also suggested creating more entrance and exit points in Juffair through revamping Awal Avenue, revamping the road surrounding Al Najma Club, improving Al Ghuraifa access ways, solving the issue of rainstorm water floods near Jaffar Al Sadiq Mosque, and ways to prevent heavy trucks from entering into new residential areas overlooking Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Causeway, in addition to paving various roads in Juffair.
