Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Tuesday in Ramallah with Quartet representative Tony Blair, who is currently visiting the region. Palestinian news agency Wafa reported today that Abbas asked Blair, as a representative of the quartet, for financial support of the Palestinian Authority (PA). He said that the support was essential especially due to the critical financial situation the global economy is going through. Abbas also briefed Blair on the latest political developments and the dilemma the peace process is facing due to the Israeli government’s intransigence and refusal to abide by the international law.
