As many as 322,937 people

As many as 322,937 people have benefited from Dar Al Ber Society projects in the Holy Month of Ramadan all over the globe.

These included the Iftar programme which covered 277,835 people, as well as the Zakat Al Fitr scheme which spanned 35,348 people, and the Eid Clothes project which 9,736 people benefited from.

Free Iftar meals, worth AED2 million, were distributed in the continents of Africa and Asia, while Zakat Al Fitr was distributed in 36 countries in collaboration with 52 foreign strategic partners and five UAE embassies abroad.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, said they also contributed Ramadan Meer or Food-Baskets to vulnerable people worldwide.

"The society spares no effort to provide the best ever services to indigent and low-income people, particularly the deprived ones in African and Asian countries, and ease their suffering."

"The Iftar programme would not have been a big success without the dedication of the UAE philanthropists whose generous and kind gestures know no end," he added. "This is in line with the vision and directives of the UAE's prudent leadership."

Imran Mohamed Abdullah, Head of Charity Projects, said that the Ramadan Meer was meant to secure poor families’ basic food needs. "We also contributed 9,736 free meals, worth AED210,000, at our Ramadan tents."
