A total of 132 Information Affairs Authority (IAA) employees have been promoted in recognition of their diligent efforts and key role to improve media, administrative and technical performance. IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa praised the national cadres, describing them as the pillar of the IAA media strategy. He stressed the pivotal role played by the media sector in fast-tracking reform and development, maintaining national security and stability and protecting human rights and freedoms. He pointed out IAA keenness to groom the national media cadres and hone their professional potentials on the basis of freedom, responsibility, creativity and transparency. He reiterated IAA pledge to promote press and media freedom according to the profession's ethics and code of conduct. He called to steer away from any rhetoric inciting sectarianism, hatred and violence and urged to boost patriotism, religious and social values as well as project Bahrain's democratic achievements and political reforms worldwide. On his part, IAA Human and Financial Resources Director Abdulaziz Al Ashraf thanked the IAA President for his continuous support to IAA staff, adding that the promotions are part of an ongoing approach to stimulate distinguished, diligent and dedicated workers.
