Wall Street stocks Wednesday finished little changed as investors eyed key Brussels talks on Greece's demands to renegotiate its international bailout as the risk of a debt default looms.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 17,858.87, down 9.89 points (0.06 percent).
The broad-based S&P 500 slipped a scant 0.28 (0.01 percent) to 2,068.31, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index added 13.33 (0.28 percent) at 4,800.97
Eurozone finance ministers heading into an emergency meeting said they were ready to listen to Greece's plans for debt relief, but insisted that Athens must complete austerity reforms.
Investors were hesitant to make big bets with the Greece talks ongoing, and on a day with no major US economic releases.
"It's just a back-and-forth day without a lot going on, because everybody is waiting to see what happens on Greece," said Brent Schutte, market strategist at BMO Global Asset Management.
