Tokyo stocks

Tokyo stocks rose 0.64 percent on Tuesday, bolstered by overnight gains on Wall Street stemming from better-than-expected U.S. corporate earnings reports.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 98.34 points, up from Monday at 15,395.16.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 8.22 points, or 0.65 percent, higher at 1,273.68.
Major gainers included real estate, insurance and nonferrous metal shares.
The turnover was 1741.9 billion yen (about 17.15 billion U.S. dollars).
