Tokyo stocks rose

Tokyo stocks opened modestly higher on Friday morning as market sentiment was lifted by the yen's depreciation against the U.S. dollar.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 82.17 points, or 0.54 percent, from Thursday to 15,366.59.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 5.83 points, or 0.46 percent, at 1,275. 69.
Gainers were led by export-related automaker and high-tech shares, as well as marine transport, pulp and paper issues.
