Tokyo stocks

Tokyo stocks fell Monday morning as traders moved to lock in gains following the Nikkei index’s 11-day winning streak through Friday and as sentiment was dented by declines in European and U.S. stocks late last week.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 73.46 points, or 0.36 percent, from Friday to end the morning at 20,489.69, according to Japan’s (Kyodo) News Agency. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.59 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,669.06. Decliners were led by real estate, transport equipment and shipping issues.
