Tokyo stocks ended sharply higher Tuesday on weaker yen and continued gains on Wall Street. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 318.84 points, or 2. 23 percent, from Monday at 14,588.68. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 19.76 points, or 1.67 percent higher, at 1,205.41. All 33 sectors gained and led by consumer financing, warehousing, insurance and real estate shares. The turnover was about 2,104.9 billion yen (about 21.22 billion U.S. dollars).
