Tokyo stocks ended slightly higher Friday, with Nikkei rebounding from morning's loss and extending its winning streak to an eighth trading day on a weaker yen and buoyant U.S. stocks. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 4.5 points, or 0.03 percent, from Thursday at 16,178.94. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 10.73 points, or 0.84 percent, higher at 1,290.07. Gainers were led by marine transport, warehousing, and steel sectors, while oil and coal and pharmaceutical issues were the decliners. The turnover was about 2,219.0 billion yen (21.17 billion U.S. dollars)
