Tokyo shares

Tokyo shares lost ground by ending the morning session Friday due to a pause in the yen's fast falling against the U.S. dollar.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 135.36 points, or 0. 78 percent, lower from Thursday to 17,165.50.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 8.84 points, or 0.63 percent, at 1, 388.80.
Decliners were led by machinery, nonferrous metal and construction issues.
