Tokyo shares end lower

Tokyo shares lost ground Tuesday as market's sentiment was damaged by the yen's advance, as well as overnight declines in the U.S. and European markets.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 65.03 points, or 0.42 percent, from Monday to end at 15,314.41.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.17 points, or 0.33 percent, at 1, 275.70.
Decliners were led by brokerage, iron and metal shares as well as marine transport shares.
The turnover was about 1,856.5 billion yen (about 18.23 billion U.S. dollars).
