Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 8.49 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 3,096.74. A total of 2.67 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 892 million Singapore dollars (708 million U.S. dollars). Gainers led losers 214 to 207, while 529 others finished unchanged. The STI index went down 15.37 points, or 0.5 percent, to close at 3,088.25 on Wednesday.
