Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 13.15 points, or 0.41 percent, to close at 3,217.95. A total of 1.8 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 911 million Singapore dollars (729 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 222 to 159, while 573 others finished unchanged. The STI index lost 5.41 points, or 0.17 percent, to close at 3, 204.8 on Wednesday.
