Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 9.71 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 3,172.17. A total of 2.94 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 21 billion Singapore dollars (960 million U.S. dollars). Gainers led losers 235 to 185, while 525 others finished unchanged. The STI index up 19.14 points, or 0.61 percent, to close at 3, 162.46 on Thursday.
