South Korean stocks rose 0.48 percent Tuesday as investors scooped up financial and tech shares in the face of weaker than expected data from China, analysts said. The local currency rose against the U.S. dollar. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) advanced 9.45 points to 1,963.87. Trading volume was moderate at 245 million shares worth 3.39 trillion won (US$3.19 billion), and gainers outnumbered losers 514 to 305.
