South Korean stocks opened higher Wednesday as institutions picked up market heavyweights in their brisk year-end stock purchases.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 4.23 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,943.25 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
