South Korean stocks closed lower on Monday as investors took a wait-and-see approach ahead of the release of a series of U.S. economic data this week, analysts said. The Korean won closed lower against the greenback. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) shed 8.78 points, or 0.45 percent, to 1,949.05. Trading volume was low at 191.3 million shares worth 2.86 trillion won (US$2.66 billion), with losers outpacing gainers 454 to 337.
