Qatar Exchange index gained 14.62 points (0.18%) during this week to close at 8,366.39 points. The bourse had closed at 8,441 points when trading adjourned Monday following its reopening after the Eid - ul Fitr holidays. The market capitalization rose by 0.10% to reach QR 439,130,958,364.62 as compared to QR 438,688,930,041.11 at the end of previous week. From the 42 listed companies 28 ended this week higher while 11 fell and three remained unchanged. Industries Qatar led trading value during this week accounting for 15.13% of the total trading value, followed by Qatar National Bank (12.72%) and Masraf Al Rayan (10.57%). The trading value during this week increased by 193.61% at QR 1,633,843,966.61 compared to QR 556,465,612.36. The trading volume increased by 158.00% at 38,312,660 shares as against 14,849,828 shares while the number of transactions rose by 162.62%, at 24,789 transactions as compared to 9,439 transactions at the previous closing. The banking and financial sector led the trading value during this week accounting for 46.82% of the total traded value followed by services sector which accounted for 34.85%. Industrial sector came next accounting for 17.09% and lastly by the insurance sector which accounted for 1.24%. The services sector led trading volume during this week accounting for 51.9% of the total trading volume, followed by banking and financial sector which accounted for 38.36%, industrial sector (8.76%) and insurance (0.98%). The services sector led the number of trading transactions during this week with 47.28% of the total. Banking and financial sector accounted for 36.11%, industrial sector accounted for 15.26% and insurance sector accounted for 1.35%.
