Trading value during 2013 increased by 5.96% to reach QR 74,886,053,776.82 compared to QR70,673,865,500.04. Trading volume decreased by 20.21% to reach 1,937,534,283 shares, as against 2,428,190,041 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 9.09%, to reach 961,811 transactions as compared to 881,638 transactions. Market capitalization rose in 2013 by 20.81% to reach QR 555,606,339,793.27 as compared to QR 459,883,620,869.07 at the end of previous year. The Banks and Financial Services sector led trading value during this year, accounting for 33.4% of the total trading value,followed by Industrials sector, which accounted for 24.28%. The Real Estate sector ranked third, accounting for 15.32%, and finally followed by Consumer Goods and Services sector, which accounting for 11.20%. The Banks and Financial Services sector led trading volume during this year , accounting for 27.6% of the total trading volume, followed by Real Estate sector, which accounted for 27.50%. The Industrials sector ranked third, accounting for 12.83%, and finally followed by Transportation sector, which accounting for 11.02%. The Banks and Financial Services sector led trading number of transactions during 2013, accounting for 30.76% of the total number of transactions, followed by Industrials sector, which accounted for 21.60%. The Real Estate sector ranked third, accounting for 16.57%, and finally followed by Consumer Goods and Services sector, which accounted for 12.29%. 26 companies of the 42 listed companies ended the year higher, while 15 fell and 1 company unchanged.
