Tokyo stocks ended 1.03 percent higher on Wednesday afternoon, supported by the yen\'s weaken. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 143.23 points, from Tuesday to 14,037.84. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 16.77 points, or 1.46 percent, at 1, 166.90. Almost all 33 sectors gained led by real estate, consumer finance and mining firms. Communications and air transport companies were the only decliners. The turnover was 1844.1 billion yen (about 19.01 billion US dollars).
