Nikkei ended 0.11 percent higher on Wednesday. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average closed up 15.92 points from Tuesday at 14,615.04. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 2.70 points, or 0.22 percent, at 1,213.24. Gainers included miscellaneous products, mining and textiles, while decliners included consumer finance, food and real estate companies. The turnover was about 2,354.7 billion yen (about 23.69 billion U.S. dollars).
