Tokyo stocks ended 0.18 percent higher in the morning session of Wednesday supported by overnight gains on Wall Street. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 26.67 points, from Tuesday to 14,739.92. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 3.23 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,217. 67. Gainers were led by nonferrous metal, consumer finance and communications firms, while decliners included land transport, chemical and electric machinery issues.
