Kuwaiti investments came in third among Arab and other investments in the Jordanian bourse in the first eight months of 2011, at USD 1.5 billion and 5.9% of overall bourse value, an economic expert told Kuwait news agency (KUNA) on Thursday. Samer Senqart, a manager of an investment company, noted that the global economic slump had driven a portion of investments back to investors\'\' own countries. A third consecutive year of low share prices is likely to lure some of the investments back, he noted. Official figures indicate that the total of Kuwaiti investments in Jordan is some USD 8 billion in diverse sectors. The figures also put percentage of non-Jordanian holders of shares in listed Jordanian companies for the first eight months of 2011 at 51%.
