The benchmark index of the Indian equities market closed lower on Friday with the 30-scrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, closing at 19727.27 points, 166.85 points or 0.84 percent lower from the previous close of 19893.85 points. The Sensex had a turnover of 5.13 billion rupees (about 83.45 million US dollars).
