Hong Kong stocks

Hong Kong stocks closed up 54.68 points, or 0.22 percent to 25,166.91 points on Monday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 24,946.85 to 25, 243.16. Turnover totaled 63.41 billion HK dollars (about 8.18 billion U.S. dollars).
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 57.10 points, or 0. 52 percent, to close at 11,115.79.
Two of the four sub-indices gained ground. The Properties and the Finance sub-indices rose 0.65 percent and 0.55 percent respectively, while the Utilities lost 0.71 percent and the Commerce & Industry edged down 0.14 percent.
Banking giant HSBC, which accounts for the largest weighting of the Hang Seng Index, went up 0.6 percent to close at 83.70 HK dollars. Its local unit Hang Seng Bank slightly rose 0.08 percent to 132.70 HK dollars. Bank of East Asia, another Hong Kong's major bank, ended flat at 33.65 HK dollars. Local bourse operator HKEX lowered 0.22 percent to 183.30 HK dollars.
Local developers closed higher in general. Hang Lung Properties gained 0.98 percent to 25.70 HK dollars. Henderson Land, another major developer in Hong Kong, moved up 0.99 percent to 51.20 HK dollars. Cheung Kong Holding, a powerful HK-based developer controlled by billionaire Li Ka-shing, surged 1.37 percent to 148 HK dollars. Sun Hung Kai Properties added 0.34 percent to 117.70 HK dollars.
Mainland-based financial stocks closed mixed. Bank of China rose 0.54 percent to 3.69 HK dollars. Bank of Communications dipped 0.17 percent to 5.75 HK dollars. China Construction Bank rose 0.51 percent to 5.92 HK dollars. ICBC gained 0.77 percent to 5.26 HK dollars.
As for energy stocks, PetroChina increased 0.92 percent at 10. 98 HK dollars. CNOOC climbed 1.19 percent to 15.30 HK dollars. Sinopec surged 4.28 percent to 8.04 HK dollars. (1 U.S. dollar equals 7.75 HK dollars)
