The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) gained 700 million pounds at the end of Tuesday's trading on the back of purchase operations by local funds and institutions.

The EGX 30 benchmark index went up 0.1 percent to close at 6,769.08 points.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) increased by 0.34 percent to reach 367.54 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose by 0.28 percent to hit 758.67 points.
