Chinese shares gained on Friday as new industries led the market. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.83 percent, or 17.45 points, to finish at 2,115.85. The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.34 percent, or 26.64 points, to close at 7,883.75. Combined turnover on the two bourses shrank to 245.77 billion yuan (40.24 billion U.S. dollars) from 302.16 billion yuan on the previous trading day. The ChiNext Index, a NASDAQ-style board tracking China's growth enterprises, rose 2.06 percent, or 30.65 points, to end at 1,515.78 points. Shares related to motorcycles, liquor, and hotels and tourism saw the best performance, with sub-indices tracking the sectors up 3.68 percent, 3.35 percent and 3.23 percent respectively. Linhai Co., Ltd. gained 8.9 percent to hit 5.75 yuan per share. Jiangsu Yanghe Brewery Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. rose 8.64 percent to 49.92 yuan and Beijing Jingxi Tourism Development Co., Ltd. surged by the daily limit of 10 percent to 9.33 yuan.
