The Egyptian Exchange closed on Sunday with losses amounting to EGP 4.5 billion and its indexes were all down after a bomb targeted the motorcade of Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat this morning and left him injured.

The capital market hit EGP 485.1 billion after transactions reached EGP 825 million.

The benchmark index EGX 30 dropped 1.65 percent to 8,371.53 points.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) declined 1.34 percent to 444.69 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index was down 1.12 percent taking the index to 941.77 points.
