Bourse gains 5.9bn pounds in April

The Egyptian Exchange made gains in April hitting 5.9 billion pounds, bringing the market capital to 413.3 billion pounds, according to a report by the bourse on Thursday.

The EGX 30 benchmark index rose 3.3 percent to close at 7,773 points, said the report, a copy of which MENA obtained.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) inched up by 1.93 percent to 374 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index also increased by 0.28 percent to close at 790 points
