Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is seeking to raise its crude output up to 3.15 million barrels per day (bpd) by 2015 through the drilling of around 250-300 oil wells this year, KOC's CEO Hashim Hashim announced Saturday. Hashim made this announcement on the fringes of launching KOC's community beautification campaign in collaboration with Voluntary Work Center. Hashim told the press that KOC is working within a pre-planned strategy; a strategy that aspires to produce 4 million bpd by 2020 and remain at that level of production through 2030. He added that implementation of many giant projects in the foreseeable future would enable the company to achieve this goal. Meanwhile, as part of KOC's responsibility towards society, a beautification campaign themed "build not destroy" was launched today with the collaboration of Voluntary Work Center. Head of the voluntary center Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad told the press that this campaign aims at utilizing the youth's energy by directing it to what is best for their society i.e. building and not destroying public properties. The campaign will aim at beautifying public properties by painting murals on the walls of buildings; hence, Sheikha Amthal called all creative artists to join the campaign where they could also be awarded for their art work.
