Hyundai Engineering Co., a South Korean industrial plant builder, said Thursday that it has clinched a US$200 million order to build a thermal power plant in Bangladesh. Under the deal with state-owned Ashuganj Power Station Company, a consortium of Hyundai Engineering and Daewoo International Corp. will build the 225-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Ashuganj, east of Dakar. The construction will be completed in 2014, said the builder. Hyundai Engineering said that the project will help Bangladesh supply electricity more efficiently.
