Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) on Monday signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Society of Engineers (SOE) — UAE aiming to develop the Real Estate sector in the UAE. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Assistant Director General for Engineering and Planning Sector in Dubai Municipality and President of Society of Engineers — UAE and Marwan Bin Ghalaita, Acting Director General of Land Department and CEO of Real Estate Regulatory Agency, signed the Memorandum of Understanding between SOE — UAE and DREI. The MoU will acknowledge the mutual willingness and interest of Society of Engineers and Dubai Real Estate Institute to co-operate on several fields related to real estate issues and increase networking opportunities with a focus on further achieving the mission and goals of both organisations in a mutually beneficial manner. Society of Engineers and Dubai Real Estate Institute will take appropriate measures to increase the level of co-operation in all areas of real estate and engineering that are of common interest. SOE and Dubai Real Estate Institute will collaborate in the Real Estate related courses, which will serve the interests of both organisations. SOE and DREI shall collaborate to ensure that there are highly qualified professionals trained and developed to serve as professors for courses and seminars. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor stated: “Society of Engineers is playing a pioneering role in engineering in the UAE as it has a unique international function in qualifying and training the engineers through its Training and Development Center which is one from the best Training Centers in the country.” “It caters different training courses that are accredited locally and internationally from the most professional accrediting bodies and it offers CPD (Continuing Professional Development) that help ensure competence to practice, taking in knowledge, skills and practical experience. SOE programs are accredited from all universities in the UAE towards best engineering practices in the UAE,” he added. Al Maidoor also said that “Society of Engineers - UAE have a inimitable international Test Center that represents the most highly professional examinations in the country that helps develop the engineering, technical and management expertise of each individual. Society of Engineers, who represents various engineering sectors, government and private entities, consultants and contractors, building suppliers and developers, plays an essential role in evaluating engineering qualifications and award them with professional engineering license.” Marwan Bin Ghalaita, Acting Director General of Land Department and CEO of Real Estate Regulatory Agency said: “The partnership of SOE and Dubai Real Estate Institute will help us develop leaders who will shape the real estate business of the future.
