UAE contributes US$150 to support Chad development plan

The United Arab Emirates, UAE, has announced a US$150 million contribution, provided through the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD, to support the National Development Plan of the Republic of Chad.

The announcement came during a speech by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, during the "Development and Investment in Chad Conference," which was held in Paris from 6th to 8th September.

The conference was chaired by Idris Deby, President of the Republic of Chad, and was attended by Edouard Philippe, Prime Minister of France, as well as several heads of states, officials and international delegations, and representatives of international development and investment banks.

The conference discussed the National Development Plan for Chad (2017-2021), as well as the means of supporting the country's development and counter-terrorism efforts.
