The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) will sign a cooperation protocol on Thursday with China's Chenghdau harbor at the SCZone premises. 

A statement released on Wednesday by SCZone said SCZone deputy Chairman Abdel Qader Darwish will sign the agreement with the board chairman of Chenghdau harbor.

The agreement comes within the framework of an exchange of expertise between the Egyptian and Chinese sides with the aim of upgrading the performance of the six harbors run by SCZone and achieve integration with the Suez Canal economic zone whose area estimated at 461 kilometers.

Suez Canal economic zone groups various Chinese investments, the recent of which was the allocation of industrial land on an area of six kilometers for China's Tida Group to raise the total area of the group to 7.23 kilometers.

SCZone also signed a memorandum of understanding with China Development Bank to grant a loan for Tida Group to expand its investments. Also, another agreement has been signed by SCZone to train Egyptian workers to work in the Chinese projects.
