Spain's industrial output rises to 4 year high

Spanish industry enjoyed a four-year record surge in output in April, in a fresh sign of the country's economic recovery gathering pace, official data released on Friday showed.
Output at factories, refineries and mines rose by 4.3 per cent during the year leading up to April, the strongest increase since March 2010, dpa quoted the national statistics office INE as saying.
In seasonally adjusted terms, however, industrial output dropped by 1.9 per cent over the period. This is due to an unusually strong uptick last March of 8.1 per cent.
