Slovak transport minister Roman Brecely

Slovak transport minister on Sunday called for cooperation between an airport serving Slovakia's capital city Bratislava and a Vienna airport to optimize their timetables.

Roman Brecely proposed a strategic partnership between the M. R. Stefanik Bratislava Airport and the Vienna International Airport. The two airports are about 70 km away.

The proximity of the two airports has resulted in a certain disadvantage for the smaller Bratislava airport, according to the official.

Certain flights, including intercontinental flights, which do not fit into the Vienna airport timetable could be transferred to Bratislava, said Brecely, adding such cooperation would yield benefits for both.
