Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi and his Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa signed on Tuesday an agreement on mutual defense cooperation. The agreement underlines expansion and strengthening of defense cooperation between Iran and Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean minister during his four-day visit to Tehran met with Presdent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Foreign Minster Ali Akbar Salehi and his counterpart Vahidi. Mnangagwa discussed with high ranking Iranian officials issues of mutual interest as well as latest regional and international developments. He visited Tehran at the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart. Mnangagwa also inspected some centers and defense industry companies affiliated to the Deffense Ministry and got acquainted with Iranain defensse capabilities. At the end of meeting, the Zimbabwean minister invited his Iranian counterpart to pay a visit to Harare.
