Iranian and Turkish officials in a meeting on Wednesday reviewed bilateral security cooperation. The meeting was held in the presence of Iran’s Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour and Turkish Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin. The two sides also discussed exchange of information between their countries. Hosseinpour said Tehran and Ankara have signed various agreements on joint campaign against terrorism, drug-smuggling and organized crimes. Iran and Turkey have enjoyed unique relations in recent years, said the Iranian envoy calling for upgrading the current level of bilateral cooperation. Confirming Hosseinpour’s remarks, the Turkish interior minister hoped to visit Iran soon.
