Egypt, Kenya trade

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Kenya during the past five years rose from $ 217 millions to $ 430 millions, Kenyan Ambassador in Cairo Joff Otieno said on Wednesday.

During a speech delivered at Rift Valley Railways Conference entitled "An Integrated Logistics Solution in East Africa”, Otieno said the investment in infrastructure, transport and logistics' areas are key to increase the production of manufacturers and exporters.

Kenya is looking forward to boosting the inter-trade with Egypt and fostering trade cooperation between Egyptian and Kenyan companies by expanding the import of fish and meat products, encouraging joint investments and the establishment of industrial zones as well as providing a package of incentives to those zones, he added.

Kenya has perfect opportunities to attract more investments especially with the beginning of developing the infrastructure there, he asserted.
