Abu Dhabi Chamber

Mohamed Thani Murshed Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussed ways of enlarging the scope of economic and investment co-operation between Abu Dhabi and the Brazilian state of Goias with Marconi Perillo, Governor of the State of Goias.

The meeting was attended by Paulo Cesar Meira de Vasconcellos, Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE, Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, the Chamber’s First Deputy, Khan Zaman, board member, and Abdullah Ghurair Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber.

Al Rumaithi said this visit represents an opportunity to promote economic and investment co-operation between the UAE and Brazilian companies, and for providing more information about available investment opportunities. It also highlights Brazil's status as a major trade partner of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

He added that Abu Dhabi companies and institutions are increasingly interested in promoting their investments in Brazilian market, in the areas of infrastructure and food industries. He noted that Abu Dhabi Chamber encourages investors and companies in Abu Dhabi to invest in Goias.

Al Rumaithi also said that the Abu Dhabi Chamber should expand their investment ties and raise awareness among Brazilian investors about available investment opportunities, as well as the services and facilities provided by Abu Dhabi authorities.

The Governor of the State of Goias highlighted his state’s investment opportunities, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure and food industries, and noted that 50 percent of Brazilian crops are produced in Goias.

He added that Goias is presenting investment incentives to foreign investors, as well as tax exemptions of up to 90 percent in some sectors.

He invited the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber to visit Goias to view its investment opportunities, natural and economic resources, particularly grain, sugar and livestock.
